Can people control their destiny, or are they merely victims of circumstances?

Have you ever watched "Final Destination"?                          

If you haven’t, Its basically a movie about a group of people who escaped death but someway or another it was their destiny to die and no matter what they did or how they tried to prevent it death always found his way around their plans. 


                                                               

We as people cannot control our future or our fate no matter what choices we make, if something is meant to happen then it will..so in this case you can definitely say we are the victims of circumstances its inevitable. The only thing we can control is our action and the decisions we make. These are the things that change our destiny
                                 
Any thing we do only starts a trail of events that are yet to come.
